RulesWe're firm proponents of the 'a game is a game' school of roleplaying. Players are requested to please not take in-character interactions personally and to demonstrate basic courtesy towards your fellow writers. (This includes giving the mod journal a heads up before undertaking any major plots.) That being said, there will be activity checks periodically to remove dead weights and to give others a fair chance to play a character that is otherwise being neglected with impunity. Please refer to the FAQ for further information concerning activity requirements.

Due to a plot arc in game, applications will be frozen from May 28 until June 15. Holds will be accepted, and submitted applications will be marked as pending, but no apps will be processed between May 28-June 15. Pending applicants may opt to play in expresscrack until they are officially accepted to the main game. New players will be added to the ooc community for plotting purposes.

Writing Sample: Can be waived for existing players. For the character being applied for is preferred, but others are acceptable. A fresh log starter for your character's arrival on the Orient Express is even better.

Opt-in/opt-out: We offer a writing prompt where your character is randomly paired with another for a log. This log is worth twice as much as a regular log. Would you like to participate in random pairings, or opt out of them?

Congratulations! You’ve been ACCEPTED to the Orient Express!

Your character of Kelly Bailey has been randomly assigned to Cabin #406-A. Her roommate is Bobby Drake. After your first activity check, you can request a room change here if you wish.

Upon arrival, their devices will be in their rooms (which will have their names on the door). The note from the conductor will be displayed on the phone and tablet.

Currently, the train is traveling through Prehistoria. Details of the current scenario can be found by visiting the !dashboard tag in the network community. Questions can be deposited in the drop box, or directly to the moderator’s email.

We encourage you to post an introduction in the out of character community to get to know the other players. If we don't hear something, IC or OOC, from you within 72 hours, we reserve the right to assume you've lost interest and we may remove your character.

You can friend the communities while checking to make sure your contact information is correct. There is no need to friend the mod journal, and we prefer that you did not.

Hello!

In order to process your application, we do need you to complete all the steps of the application process.

In regard to your specific question, the rooms are rolled at random. If your character wants a specific other character as a roommate, they may request it via the point redemption system after your first activity check. No character may choose their roommate prior to arrival.
